Future trends in operations excellence
Jul 09, 2007 | New York, NY
Tefen recently hosted a full day workshop titled “FUTURE TRENDS IN OPERATIONS EXCELLENCE: THE PATH FORWARD FOR BIOPHARMACEUTUICALS” at bioLOGIC Europe 2007, one of Europe’s most progressive biologics conferences.
The session, which served as a global forum for senior-level biopharmaceutical executives, featured a full-day interactive workshop focused on the past and future of Operations Excellence in the biopharmaceutical industry. Attendees enjoyed a program of industry analyses, open forum discussions of industry trends and challenges, and various case study presentations. Key conclusions from the meeting included:
- Driving Operations Excellence is still a challenge in a discovery-based industry
- The most successful companies driving Operations Excellence are beginning to apply the tools to accelerate product development
- Contract manufacturers need to embrace the tools of Operations Excellence to remain competitive
- Operations Excellence practices will be more common when BioGenerics and BioSimilars represent a more immediate threat to the industry
Marc Puich, biopharmaceutical partner for Tefen USA, and Pete Caldwell, pharmaceutical & biopharmaceutical partner for Tefen UK, co-presented the event. Tefen hosted a similar workshop at bioLOGIC in 2004.
