For the month of November, we are pleased to present our latest interview with Chiara Benedetti, a senior consultant in Tefen. Chiara has been working at Tefen since 2014, and in this interview she tells about her international experiences, and much more. Chiara Benedetti

Background (education, previous work, etc):

I have a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and a Master’s degree in Management with a major in HR – both from Bocconi University.

During my Master’s finals, I went to Sweden for an exchange student program, and on summer studies in LA. Thanks to both these international experiences, I had the opportunity to interact with people from all over the world. It helped me understand the importance of interacting with and learning from new cultures.

What drew you to apply to Tefen Management Consulting?

I joined Tefen after university and, as a new graduate, there were three main things that drew me to apply for this firm:

1. The international exposure – I think it’s something a fresh graduate is looking for, especially someone with university background which allowed the opportunity to travel and study abroad.

2. The chance to have an impact – We’re a consulting boutique, and I believed this type of firm would give me the opportunity to really contribute, even at the beginning of my career. Indeed, although I was a junior consultant, Tefen gave me the opportunity to interact directly with clients and to really make an impact.

3. The hands-on approach – not only designing the methodology and strategy, but supporting the client in implementing it, which allows seeing the practical results of the project.

What do you like the most and the least about your consultant life?

I like the fact that I get to travel a lot, visit countries around the world and interact with different people from different cultures. I also like the diversity of projects – each project is different, and it gives me the opportunity to learn more about different topics and different fields.

And the least – the trial of achieving a work-life balance.

What’s the main goal for a management consultancy according to you?

I think a consulting firm should provide innovative, but still practical and actionable solutions to solve the client’s problems.

Tell us about your most memorable/engaging project.

I’m proud of all my projects (usually they’re in the Life Science and Healthcare fields), as they were all very interesting and challenging. The more I grow in my career path, the more projects become interesting and challenging, and I always have the opportunity to learn something new.

Probably two projects were really unique, above all for their location: one allowed me to spend three months in California, and the second one less than three months in Dubai.

What are your activities (if any) about outside of work?

I love traveling, and I take every chance I have to visit a different place. Also, when I have time during winter I love going skiing.

What or who is the biggest source of influence in your life?

My parents. They taught me to never give up and always try to be the best in what I do and never settle for what I’ve achieved. They showed me the importance of being passionate in everything I do.
